They spoke about the Summer Slide initiative that they are implementing this year. Barry reports on the launch of Literacy and Numeracy for Learning and Life: The National Strategy to Improve Literacy and Numeracy among Children and Young People 2011-2020. He plays an excerpt from the Minister's speech on launch day and gets a response from Peter Mullan of the Irish National Teachers' Organisation.
