Presented and produced by Seán Delaney

This is a selection of clips from Inside Education programmes in 2009. It is a good place to start if you want to find out what Inside Education is about. Because the programme is an hour long, I have uploaded it in two parts. In this first part you will hear clips from the following programmes:

1.Séamus Heaney on poetry and pedagogy (from Programme 18)

2. Don Thornhill (Chairman of the National Competitiveness Council), Brian Hayes (Fine Gael Education spokesman) and Joe Mulholland (Director of the MacGill Summer School) from the MacGill Summer School in Glenties, Co. Donegal (from Programme 3)

3. Annette Dolan (Assistant General Secretary of the TUI), Dara Molloy (Celtic Priest and critic of the Leaving Certificate) and Caroline Vicini (Minister and Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Sweden in Dublin) on a panel discussion to examine the Leaving Certificate (from Programme 6)

4. Mary Burke (Coordinator of the National Pilot Project on Teacher Induction (Primary) about beginning teaching (from Programme 8.)

5. Jo Boaler from the University of Sussex on why everyone can be good at mathematics (Programme 14)
